For the past few years we have incorporated a 'Laser Taskforce Project' in the local community where our annual conference is held. It makes sense to use our collective group of skilled electricians and plumbers for charity work when we are all in the same place at the same time.

Laser Group has been working closely with Habitat for Humanity on a project that will not only help address New Zealands overcrowding issues but will also see the Habitat for Humanity Restore at 8 Ormiston Road, East Tamaki revamped.

Goanna Park Northern Territory

Christchurch Earthquake

We were all devastated by the significant effects the September 4th 2010 earthquake had on Christchurch and the surrounding areas. Fortunately no lives were lost but the constant barrage of after shocks continually held the city and its residents on edge. Our annual conference was able to still be held in Christchurch as planned in October and it seemed the city was starting to be on the mend.

Every year the team at Cholmondeley provides short term quality care for dozens of children aged between 3 and 12 years. These children come from homes where serious pressures exist such as addiction, illness, mental health issues, financial stress, even the death of a parent.

Victoria's Black Saturday Bushfires

Black Saturday seared itself into Victorias history books and the memories of many on the 7th February 2009. Temperatures in Melbourne soared above 46 degrees and were higher across the state. We were all thankful that all our Members that lived and operated in the bushfire locations were safe and had houses intact although some had close calls and many knew of relatives, friends and acquaintances that were less fortunate.
