BRIGHT SPARK: Timaru electrician Logan Hanifin will travel to Germany next July to compete in the WorldSkills trades competition.
He is no stranger to competition, having taken out third place at the Taiwan International Intelligent Electrical Installations event last month.
Mr. Hanifin is passionate about his trade.
I love it. It's awesome.
The opportunity it comes with and just the technical difficulty of a lot of the work. I have to use my brain and work things out," he said.
He has been with Laser Electrical for five years, starting out as an apprentice after leaving school. He will travel to WorldSkills with 13 young tradespeople from around the country as the Tool Blacks.
I can't wait. It's going to be awesome."
